**Welcome to the Lawrenceville Marketplace.**

By accessing or using this website, you ("the User") agree to be bound by this Terms of Service and User Agreement ("Agreement"). This Agreement is a legally binding contract between you and the platform administration/creator ("We," "Us," or "Our"). If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service.

### I. Platform Scope, Exchange Model, and Limitations of Liability

**1. No Online Transactions.** This website is a **concise, lightweight, product-display focused** information platform only.
* **The Service has no shopping carts, no order settlement functions, and no escrow services.** We do not facilitate, encourage, or process any kind of online transaction.
* **We are NOT a party to any exchange between users.** We merely facilitate information sharing.

**2. Face-to-Face Exchange Model.** By using this Service, you acknowledge that all finalized exchanges must occur **offline, face-to-face, and in person.**

**3. Disclaimer of Liability.**
* We are provided "AS IS." We cannot and do not guarantee the safety, legality, condition, quality, or authenticity of any item listed or the honesty of any user.
* Any offline arrangements between users occur outside the platform at your own risk.
* **We accept NO LIABILITY** for: broken or unsatisfactory items; disputes between users and listing owners; failed meetups; scam attempts; personal injury during a physical meeting; or any loss.

### II. Eligibility and Authentication

**1. Lawrenceville Affiliation Required.** This Service is strictly limited to current Lawrenceville School students and faculty ("Expectation 4 & 7: Meet Community Expectations").
* You must sign in with a valid `@lawrenceville.org` email address. Personal Google accounts (e.g. `@gmail.com`) are not permitted.

**2. Authentication.** Access requires mandatory Google OAuth authentication using your Lawrenceville School account. The server verifies the email domain on every sign-in.

**3. Account Standing.** Possessing a school email does not guarantee continued access. Administrators may freeze, restrict, or remove accounts that violate this Agreement or school expectations. Attempts to bypass authentication or impersonate another user are violations of "Expectation 5: authorized presence" and will be reported.

### III. The principal Expectations of a Lawrentian (image_5.png)

Using this website is a privilege contingent on adhering to the school's core values. All content you generate (listings, DMs, comments) must reflect these values.

**1. Honesty and Academic Integrity (image_5.png, Expectations 2, 7 & 8).**
* All item listings (condition, description, Original Value, and exchange history) must be accurate. "Expectation 2: A Lawrenceville student must be honest."
* **Academic dishonest materials are strictly prohibited.** You may not list, request, or exchange past tests, completed assignments, papers, or any material designed to facilitate plagiarism (image_5.png, Expectation 8: school rules; image_5.png, Expectation 2: cheating).
* Violations of honesty may affect your "Trusted Member" status or lead to account freezing.

**2. Respect and Dignity (image_5.png, Expectation 1 & 7).**
* Harassment, bullying, threats, sexual misconduct, inappropriate use of comments, or any retaliatory behavior in direct messages or public comments is strictly prohibited. (image_5.png, Expectation 1; image_5.png, Expectation 7: retaliation).
* Respect the rights and privacy of others (image_5.png, Expectation 1). Do not share another user's offline contact information (dorm room, phone number) without their explicit consent in a public comment thread.

**3. Health, Safety, and Substance-Free Community (image_5.png, Expectations 3, 4 & 8).**
* Users must remain substance-free. The following items are strictly prohibited from being listed, exchanged, requested, or even discussed on the Service:
    * **Drugs and Misused Prescriptions** (image_5.png, Expectation 3).
    * **Alcohol, Vaporizers, Nicotine, and Nicotine Agents** (image_5.png, Expectation 3).
    * **Any dangerous substances** (image_5.png, Expectation 3).
    * **Weapons (unauthorized), Combustibles, or Explosives** (image_5.png, Expectation 4).
    * **Food items** (to mitigate allergy risks).
* Violations of these safety rules will result in immediate termination of the account and will be reported to school administration (image_5.png, Expectation 4: protect health and safety).

**4. Digital Citizenship (image_5.png, Expectation 7).**
* Public comments must be appropriate, polite, and constructive.
* Inappropriate use of social media-style features or artificial intelligence to disrupt the Service is prohibited.
* Users are expected to have an "Upstander" mentality and utilize the platform's "Report Button" to flag violations (Fake Info, Scam, Rule Violation).

### IV. Safe Offline Transactions (Expectation 4 & 5)

**1. Locations.** For your physical health and safety (image_5.png, Expectation 4), you are strongly recommended to conduct face-to-face meetups in well-populated, official, and authorized campus locations. (e.g., the library, the student center, athletic fields).
* Unless you have explicit permission (image_5.png, Expectation 5), do not attempt to enter another student's dorm room or non-public area for an exchange.

**2. Responsibility.** Users are entirely responsible for arranging safe meetups and ensuring the other party is also a Lawrentian before conducting the exchange.

### V. Reporting, Moderation, and Termination (Expectation 4 & 8)

**1. Reporting Obligation.** To protect the community (image_5.png, Expectation 4), users must report concerns about violations of these terms.

**2. Moderator Powers.** We maintain a Moderator Dashboard (Admin Page) with full authority to enforce these terms, school rules, and federal/state law (image_5.png, Expectation 8).
* This authority includes: the right to review all content, including "Messages" (Direct Messages) if necessary for safety/rule investigation.
* We reserve the right to immediately "Delete" any listing or "Freeze Account" for any user determined to be in violation of these rules, school principles, or any law, at our sole discretion.

**3. School Reporting.** Any violation that directly contradicts the "Principal Expectations of a Lawrentian" may be reported to the appropriate Lawrenceville School administrators for disciplinary action outside the platform.

### VI. Content and State Calculations

**1. "Original Value" Field.** The required field asking for the item's approximate Original Value is used solely for the Service's backend internal statistics (calculation of "School Total Savings"). We make no guarantee about the accuracy of these calculations or the savings values displayed to other users.

**2. "Searching" Board.** When using the Searching board to request items, all rules regarding forbidden items and respect/honesty still apply. You are limited to uploading one reference image for Searching posts.

**3. DM Request Limits.** To prevent unwanted messaging, users are limited to sending **one initial message request** to another user. Unrestricted direct messaging is only unlocked once both users are mutually following each other. Attempts to bypass this limitation are prohibited.

### VII. Governing Law and Disputes

This Service is created by a student and is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey and applicable American federal law (specifically the Communications Decency Act, Section 230).

Any disputes arising from the use of this Service will be handled in a manner respectful of the school community; however, the platform administration/creator will not mediate user-to-user disputes.

### VIII. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify this Agreement at any time, including adding or revising specific school policies before, during, or after the school year (image_5.png: footers). Modifications will be posted on the platform, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
